people are good

a couple months ago, my supervisor from work said i should go to uganda to attend the wedding of a friend and co-worker.  this friend is moving to uganda to marry a man she met while working at a school there last year.  they will be starting a group home for orphaned teenage boys.  pretty exciting really.

anyway, when she said this i walked out of the room laughing.  a couple days later she mentioned it again saying she was serious.  i said there is no way i could afford it.  to which she said my co-workers would take care of it by doing some fundraisers.  so far there was a raffle for 60$ worth of lotto tickets (i know, the irony is amazing), and a night of bingo bowling with a silent auction. they have raised enough to pay for my trip to england and back.  how we're going to get the money for england to uganda i don't know but i'm committed to the trip now.
